Si l’électricité est hors service…
La durée de vie d’une batterie est d’habituellement un jour. Si vous voulez être capable d’avoir vote téléphone ou autre objet rechargeable près à l’emploi, vous pouvez considérer d’avoir un petit générateur solaire. Il y a toutes sortes de générateurs sur le marché qui peuvent alimenter les choses donc regardez pour quelque chose qui marche pour vous.

Deux idées pour ceci. Avoir un téléphone avec un câble de téléphone fixe peut fonctionner parce que les opérateurs téléphoniques ont des renforts de batteries si l’électricité est déconnectée. Les sans-fils sont bien, mais ils ne le sont plus assez quand l’électricité est éteinte et que les tours de relais ne marchent plus. Donc pensez à ajouter un téléphone à $5 à votre kit d’urgence, parce que même si les services téléphoniques sont hors service, les câbles fonctionnent souvent encore ! Gardez à l’esprit que les appels locaux sur votre téléphone pourraient ne pas fonctionner parce que les échanges locaux sont surchargés par toutes les personnes appelant, ou sont endommagés, ou coupés, mais vous pourriez toujours pouvoir appeler à longue distance avec votre téléphone mobile. Cela fonctionne toujous car ils connectent directement hors des villes et ne passent pas par les échanges locaux. Donc mettez en place un plan pour utiliser un contact hors de la ville qui sera la personne à appeler pour les urgences familiales.
FEMA recommande que chaque ménage ait au moins 2 semaines d’approvisionnement en nourriture et en eau, alors que les Américains moyens en ont seulement pour 3 jours ! En fonction du désastre, les secours/aides peuvent prendre une semaine ou plus à arriver et quand vous avez faim, froid et que vous êtes fatigué, CHAQUE JOUR fait la différence (particulièrement quand vous avez des enfants). Checklist de fournitures :
- Eau – Au moins 14 gallons par personne (soit 56 litres). (utilisez des containers de stockage, la baignoire, des cuves, etc, pour l’eau de lavage).
- Nourriture – Prévoyez au moins 2 semaines de nourriture.
- Cuisiner sans Électricité – Ayez 2-3 façons de cuisiner votre nourriture.
- Essence – Remplissez toutes les voitures et ayez quelques extra pour le générateur.
- Kits de Survie – Kit de 1er Secours, Kit de 72 Heures, Sac d’Urgence.
- Etcetera – Téléphones, filtres d’eau, sources de chaleur, vêtements, couvertures.
La plupart de ces applications ne sont pas celles que vous utilisez tous les jours. Cependant, c’est une bonne idée d’aller de l’avant et de les télécharger pour quand l’inattendu arrive. Encore mieux, quand vous avez du temps libre, familiarisez-vous avec leurs contenus pour que soyez prêt !
